Pluristem

Ploristem is a biomedical company that develops and manufactures medical treatments based on cells derived from human placenta. The cells are isolated from the placenta and grow inside a facility that simulates suitable biological conditions for tissue or organism growth. Ploristem was established in 2001 by Dr. Shai Maretzky of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Ploristem's patent - the production of isolated placental cells under three-dimensional conditions - was developed in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science. Ploristem has been traded on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange since 2003, as well as on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Floristem manufactures medical treatments for Buerger disease, and plans to develop a drug for arterial stenosis and acute radiation syndrome in the future
